I've finally moved full time to the downtown Vancouver store. That means no long Skytrain rides out to Metrotown, and no having to drive to Oakridge. Ideally the store will be busy enough that I'm going to do alright in terms of sales, however the last few days it's been quite slow which is not an encouraging sign. Especially given that I was hoping to hit $10K again this month to help pay off my credit card bills and start saving up for a super secret project.
What moving does do though is put me within a block of Golden Age Comics and Collectables which has been my comic book store for the last year. Since Tuesdays and Wednesdays are usually my days off I have to walk there anyways because Wednesday is new comic book day, but this gives me a decent store to browse on my lunch breaks.
Which can't be good for saving money for my new attempt to save money.
It's almost a good thing then that most of Marvel's comics have been delayed due to delays in their main Civil War line of comics. The Civil War event is the major Marvel cross over this year and since it affects so many other stories the art delays on that book have meant there's been less comics to buy for me the past few weeks.
Hopefully Civil War #4 will be out this week or next and things will start picking up again. I'm afraid with the delays one day I'm just going to walk into the store and find that I have one billion books to buy that week as the flood gates open.
